Easily better. The history is far more accurate, since the author of the books is a professor of history. The main char didn’t exist, but all the other chars did exist. Most of the events are true (except for the main-character part, since he is fiction). Vikings is everything but accurate, from the ships to the story they are all mixed up and the time line is fcked up bc of that. In Vikings we got many real names, but they have nothing in common with the real history. I have seen both and I enjoyed both, last kingdom is IMO better produced even if it had a lower budged. Story is depending on what you want to see, reality or fiction.

Vikings season 1-3 > last kingdom > Vikings season 4-5. Major problem of the last kingdom is the actors. No charisma and the main character is such a moron I can't stand it. Compared to Ragnar he is a joke. Vikings is trash now tho.

I love Vikings but the last Kingdom is more accurate about the real story of England and his characters. Vikings has too much fantasy and the authors do what they please with the characters.

The Last Kingdom is part of a series of books by Bernard Cornwell, which include among them the Saxon Chronicles. Books are excellent historical romances. I just watched the beginning of the series on Netflix. It is interesting, but very simple (compared to the books).

It's a poor version of vikings, it's still more fantasy than history but slightly less so than vikings which might as well feature horned helmets.
